School Readiness Programs

At St Anthony’s Early Learning Centre, we understand the importance of preparing children for the transition to school and therefore implement programs to foster’s children’s learning and development accordingly.
We have two education transition programs designed to support your child’s development in a holistic and nurturing environment, ensuring they feel confident and well-prepared as they move on to their next educational journey.
These are our Little Learners Prep Program (for 3–4-year-olds) and our School Readiness Program (4–5-year-olds).

What do these programs include?

These programs are a structured approach within our service that focuses on developing the essential skills children need before they enter formal schooling. These programs incorporate a blend of educational experiences, play-based learning, and social interaction that help children grow in several key areas.
Our Little Learners Prep and School Readiness programs are not just about academic skills—it’s about fostering the emotional, social, and cognitive skills that children need to thrive in school.

Our programs focus on:

Emotional Development, Self-Awareness and Social Interactions: Encouraging independence, self-regulation, and positive interactions with peers and adults.
Cognitive Development: Building critical thinking, problem-solving, and early literacy and numeracy skills.
S.T.E.M: Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics related experiences which help young children develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and hands-on learning skills in these four areas.
Pre-Writing and Literacy: Experiences are focused on developing foundational skills that children need before they can read and write independently. Pre-writing involves building the motor skills and hand-eye coordination necessary for holding a pencil and forming letters. Literacy focuses on fostering language development, comprehension, and a love for reading.

At St Anthony’s, we take pride in offering nutritious, chef-prepared meals. Our in-house chef crafts daily menus that include fresh vegetables, herbs from our garden, and locally sourced produce.
All meals are recorded on our online platform for easy access by families. Our educators ensure mealtimes are enjoyable and relaxed, helping children develop positive eating habits.
